Prerequisites:
Step 1: Have a professional/business Instagram account.
Step 2: Have connected your Instagram account to a Facebook page (⚠️ and not a personal account).
Multiple options are available to complete steps 1 and 2 because, unfortunately, the Instagram, Facebook, and Meta interfaces may not be identical for all users.
If you already completed these criteria, proceed directly to step 3!
STEP 1 - Switch to a Professional Instagram Account
Option 1:
On the Instagram app, go to your account settings and click on "Settings & Privacy."
Find the "For Professionals" section and click on:
"Account Types and Tools" and choose "Switch to a Creator Account." You can then select the option that best describes you.
OR
"Business Tools and Ads" and choose "Change Account Type," then "Switch to a Creator Account."
If you don't have the "For Professionals" section, follow option 2 below.
Option 2:
From your profile, click on "Edit."
Then click on "Switch to a Professional Account" at the bottom of the page.
Finally, configure your Creator account.
STEP 2 - Linking Your Instagram Account to a Facebook Page
Option 1:
On your Instagram profile, click "Edit."
Under "Page," click "Connect or Create."
Log in to an existing Facebook page or create a new one!
In some cases, Instagram may not find your Facebook pages; in that case, follow option 2 below.
Option 2:
Create a Facebook page (optional if you already have one, ⚠️ please note we are referring to a Page and not a Facebook Account/Profile).
From your Facebook app, go to "Menu" and then "Pages."
Click "Create" and then "Get Started" to create your page. You'll be asked to provide a name, category, and complete the setup by filling in the required information.
Download the Meta Business Suite app, log in, and select the page you want to link to your Instagram account.
Go to settings by clicking on "More" and then "Settings."
Here, find the "Instagram" section and click on "Connect."
Click "Associate Account," "Confirm," and log in to your Instagram account.
Confirm one last time, wait, and you're all set!
STEP 3 - Connecting Your Instagram Account to Influence4You
Option 1: My Instagram account has already been connected to the platform.
If you had previously connected your account to the platform, start by deleting this connection by going to the settings of your Influence4You account, then "My Social Networks." Here, find the line corresponding to the Instagram connection and click on the pink trash can icon.
Once that is done, click "Connect my Instagram," "Continue," and follow the next steps:
From the page "Reconnect [your name] to Influence4You?", click "Edit previous settings" and choose the Business accounts you want to connect.
Next, select the page(s) that have been linked to the Instagram accounts you want to connect to the platform.
Finally, select the Instagram account(s) you want to connect to the platform that were previously linked to your Business accounts.
Save the changes, and you're all set! You'll be able to select the Instagram accounts you want to link to the platform.
Option 2: You are connecting your account for the first time.
From the page "Connect [your name] to Influence4You?", choose the Business accounts you want to connect.
Next, select the page(s) that have been linked to the Instagram accounts you want to connect to the platform.
Finally, select the Instagram account(s) you want to connect to the platform that were previously linked to your Business accounts.
Save the changes, and you're all set! You'll be able to select the Instagram accounts you want to link to the platform.
